Background Information

- The project is an independent piece of work by Dave Titchmarsh over a period from 2000-2004. It
has not at this stage received any sponsorship or advertising revenue from any outside body,
although several have shown encouragement.
- The CD ROM contains around 1700 full screen photographs and around 100,000 words. All
photographs and text are the copyright of Dave Titchmarsh (unless specifically stated). They have
been collected over a 3 year span entailing many miles of driving and walking in the area. You
should not use any material from this web site or the CD for commercial gain or for any form of
public display, whether for gain or not. Please contact Dave Titchmarsh BEFORE anything other than
private use of this material.
- The project has involved a carefully planned series of day trips to cover as much as possible
of the 'Moors' area, bounded roughly by Osmotherley, Saltburn, Scarborough and Thirsk. It
includes the vast majority of towns and villages and hundreds of scenic views. However, in an area
so vast, there are bound to be a few omissions if the publication is to take place in a reasonable
time span.
- The level of detail in coverage varies from place to place. To be honest, there are more
pictures and information about those places I found interesting and attractive to look at, hoping
that others will feel the same. For example, the CD contains a few dozen photographs of
Whitby.
- The main purpose of the project is to show the National Park area in a positive light. I have
tried to show what is worth looking at in terms of beautiful scenery and attractive buildings.
'Tourist attractions' such as abbeys, castles and museums often receive a mention, but it
is not the intention to promote specific commercial ventures.
- All information is shown in good faith, but is not guaranteed to be accurate, and all opinions
expressed are personal and should not be taken as a recommendation or otherwise.
