Baysdale is a remote valley running west to east for 5 miles from Battersby Moor until it joins the Esk Valley near Castleton. There is a tiny hamlet at Baysdale Abbey, accessible by a single track road from Kildale (3 miles) that climbs over Warren Moor. There are good views at several points over Kildale and Ingleby Moor along the way, and of Baysdale before the road drops into the valley.
