The road at the end of the track leads to Goathland (1 mile) to the right, and back to Goathland via a longer route to the left, so there is not much through traffic. The cottages are gathered mainly to one side of the road, as the ground climbs very steeply beyond. Note the unusual window frames with stone separators in between.
