CD Specification

To maximise your enjoyment of the 'Moor Tour' CD, the system requirements are as follows:

Microsoft Windows 98 (or later version): 32Mb RAM (Windows 95 will probably be OK, but cannot be guaranteed)
Screen Resolution 800 x 600 (optimum). If you normally operate at higher screen resolution, 'Moor Tour' will make allowance for this and display in full screen.
To install the contents onto a hard drive, you will need approximately 460 MB free.

North York Moor Tour operates in the same way as a large website, but it does NOT require you to make an internet connection (as all the information needed is on the disc). Simply insert the disc into your CD Drive and the introductory page will load automatically after a few seconds.

Version 1.0

(Disc Nos 1-70 on the back of the CD Case, or 0001-00070 showing as the CD title when the 'My Computer' screen shows on your computer).

Version 1.0 uses your default Internet Browser - such as Microsoft Internet Explorer - to display 'Moor Tour'. It might not function correctly if you have POP-UP WINDOWS disabled (some browsers do this by default). You may need to enable pop-up windows before using 'Moor Tour', but try it first.

In content and operation, Version 1.0 is almost identical to the later Version 1.1. The only significant change is that Version 1.1 has its own built in display software, to avoid possible problems arising from abnormal browser settings on a minority of computers.

Version 1.1

Disc Nos 101 and upwards.

From the loading screen it is best to choose the 'ORANGE' option, which displays 'Moor Tour' using its own built in browser software. In the unlikely event that this does not work, the 'GREEN' option will load 'Moor Tour' into your usual Internet Browser, as was the case with Version 1.0.
