![]() The CD has (approx) 11 pages about Coxwold. |
|
Coxwold has many attractive, pale limestone cottages running along either side of the alternative route from Thirsk to Helmsley (avoiding Sutton Bank). Its church has an unusual octagonal tower and Shandy Hall was the home of the author Laurence Sterne. It is possible that Oliver Cromwell is buried at nearby Newburgh Priory. The ruins of Byland Abbey are just one mile away. |
