Cropton Forest: Introduction

Cropton Forest

The CD has (approx) 15 pages about Cropton Forest.

Cropton Forest is an irregular shaped area of woodland interspersed with open farmland, some five miles north of Pickering. The villages of Cropton and Newton-on-Rawcliffe lie just outside, while the hamlets of Keldy Castle and Stape are surrounded by forest. There is a five mile forest drive from Mauley Cross (one mile north of Stape) to Levisham Station along a dirt track (toll on Sundays). There are good views over Newtondale Gorge.
