Grosmont

The CD has (approx) 8 pages about Grosmont.
Grosmont dates back to Roman times. The present village owes its existence to the railway and iron mining booms of the nineteenth century. It is the northern terminus of the North York Moors Railway to Pickering, with rail connections to Whitby and Middlesbrough. Steam trains at Grosmont station draw many thousands of tourists to an otherwise quiet village. The housing is a mixture of styles arranged step-wise up the steep bank of the Murk Esk.
