How to use this site

   Shows the introductory page, outlining 'North York Moor Tour'.

   THIS PAGE! Explains the menu choices for this site, listed to the left.
   
   
3. Moor Tour Demo:
   
   This opens an alphabetical index on the left of the screen. Clicking on a letter opens the index page for items starting with that letter on the right of the screen. If you click on a place name shown in bold, a page opens on screen. Bear in mind that the web site version currently has only one page per place. The number of pages available on the CD version is often shown. Place names shown in faint type are only available on the CD. Photographs shown are mainly 400 x 300 pixels; on the CD they are 800 x 600 pixels.
   
   On the CD ROM, the information is arranged in more 80 chapters. One chapter - 'Sutton Bank' is shown in full on this site in the 'Chapter Demo'. Each chapter is opened from the alphabetical index and is split into sections, with a list of links to sections on the left of screen. If a section has more than one page. the pages themselves have left and right arrow links to move forwards or backwards through the section. The 'Slideshow' option allows you to see the photographs used in each chapter without the text. Slideshows on the CD version use full screen display of photographs. Click SPACE BAR to end the slideshow.
