Huntcliff

Huntcliff: from Old Saltburn
Hunt Cliff marks the end of a huge curve of sandy beach stretching seven miles from Teesmouth through Redcar, Marske and Saltburn. Its half mile sweep out to sea and sheer slope make at a prominent landmark from the west. Constant erosion of the sandstone face has produced the dramatic profile of bare rock rising 100 metres from the sea. The Cleveland Way follows the cliff edge, past a railway line and the site of a Roman signal station.
