Lealholm

Lealholm stands on the Esk about 10 miles upstream from Whitby, on the Esk Valley railway. It is attractively laid out on both banks, with a small church with a tiny square tower beyond the village green. Here is a carved memorial cross and the old pump. The Board Inn is beside the river, which can be crossed by the stone arch bridge or a set of stepping stones.
