Within half a mile of rounding the end of Hundale Point, Long Nab comes
into view, with its old coastguard
station. From here are the first glimpses of the headland at Scarborough,
with the castle, and, in the distance, Filey Brig. The coastguard station was built in 1927 to provide a lookout post in bad
weather, but became redundant with the use of radar. It is now used by bird
watchers to study coastal migration.
