The CD has (approx) 3 pages about Peak Alum Works. |
| A geological fault at the join between the cliffs of Ravenscar and the lower shelf running into it from the north provided a ledge from which alum shale could be quarried. The Peak alum works were less than a mile from the Raven Hall Hotel, (and were to the right of the buildings shown) standing virtually at the cliff edge. An inclined railway carried processed alum from the works to a small jetty for transport by sea. |
