Historic Rail Trail

Beck Hole incline The CD has (approx) 22 pages about The Historic Rail Trail.
In brief! Park at Grosmont and catch the train to Goathland. The walk back along the trail is three and a half miles - downhill! Starting at Goathland Station the trail leads to the village, then follows the previous course of the railway, down an incline past the hamlet of Beck Hole, (also worth a short detour). From here it follows a picturesque track beside the Murk Esk to the miners' cottages at Esk Valley, then runs alongside the present railway, before climbing over the top of the tunnel, and into Grosmont.
