Stokesley

Stokesley The CD has (approx) 12 pages about Stokesley.
Stokesley stands on the Cleveland Plain three miles from the foot of the Cleveland Hills. The town has many fine Georgian buildings and was the most important in the region until Middlesbrough developed (c. 1850). A market is held each Friday on the cobbled market place with its moot hall. A long established agricultural show is held each September. The River Leven runs behind the Market Square with attractive paths and bridges alongside.
