Vale of Mowbray

Vale of Mowbray from Sutton Bank
From a height difference of 200 metes, the Vale of Mowbray spreads out below Sutton Bank. The A170 twists to Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe, two miles away, and on to Thirsk (in the middle distance), some five miles away. The Pennines are on the horizon, some thirty miles away. To put this picture into context, Lake Gormire is just off to the right, while Hood Hill and Roulston Scar are off to the left.
