This picture shows the problems of maintaining the figure. It could not be cut at too steep an angle, or the loose chippings would slide down the hillside. Another constant problem is the attempts of plant life to recapture the area. A flight of steps climbs from the car park below to join the Cleveland Way route to Sutton Bank.
