From the top of the steps, Kilburn is seen nestling amongst the Hambleton foothills. Further on is York Minster (on a clear day) and a trio of power stations around thirty miles distant. The White Horse itself is visible some twenty miles away, surprisingly much further than the distance at which one can pick out Roulston Scar, which is far more prominent close to.
