| At the top of Sutton Bank, there are two car parking areas to the left of the A170 (2003 charge £1.50 all day). The first is about 150m from the National Park Visitor Centre and is ideal for those wanting a short walk across the main road to the spectacular viewing point over the Vale of Mowbray. The North York Moors National Park Visitor Centre has a display showing the natural and human history of the North York Moors and also hosts exhibitions by local artists, etc. There is a souvenir shop, refreshment and toilet facilities. It is a popular stopping point on route to Scarborough. The car park is a starting place for circular walks, taking in the White Horse and Lake Gormire, and is a useful staging post along the Cleveland Way. |
