| The beautiful but remote valley of Wheeldale is two mile south west of Goathland along a narrow lane called Hunt House Road. Road access ends just before Hunt House and cars must be parked near a small turning area. Continue on foot along the track (seen above dropping down to the former YHA hostel). Wheeldale is best known for the stretch of Roman road (Wade's Causeway) maintained by English Heritage. |
